Old
Italian
stitchgear would be a lot more famous if all the good jokes had not
been
already used up on British electrics.
We have been consumed by the crusade to find the best and easiest to adapt handlebar switches, and can now offer a variety of switches to meet a variety of needs.
Styles:
A:Switch housing:
Room
for gadget
nuts to mount about anything they dream up. Two piece plastic housing
measures
approximately 1-7/8" wide, 2-5/8"deep, and 1" thick. Fits 7/8" bars,
drill
as required.(Please check first; sometimes they come pre drilled!) $12.00*
We have not been able to
find a source for these lately. If we find
more we will update the site. (6-28-2008)

They come with precision water resistant switches and high temperature teflon 18" silver coated copper wire for dependable operation. Designed to slide over 7/8" handelbars, they are secured with a set screw.
Double pushbutton. Can be fitted with 2 momentary switches, 2 positive off on switches, or one of each.
$84.75*
Single pushbutton. Can mount above or below bar. fitted with your choice of momentary or positive off on switch.$66.75*
Note: Switches can be "ganged" or stacked side by side, 22mm spacers needed (we use aluminum crush washers)

Our newest replacement switch:
It has been some time since we have updated this page, but in that
time
we have gone through a series of replacements for the above switch. Our
newest switch has all the functions we need and then some.
Most importantly it allows you to turn your lights off, which can do
wonders
for the weak charging systems on some older bikes. The features include:
Headlight
off / park / on and high / low there is also a LED indicator
light
in the top of the switch housing which lights when high beam is on - Turn
Signal center off / push to cancel - Horn - and - Extra
Momentary
Switch - This front facing button is labeled "kill switch" but
may not work as one in many applications, as it is just a path to
ground
(like a horn button), and not a circuit that could feed the coils, etc.
We usually just put a little piece of reflective tape over the letters
saying "kill switch", and wire it through a relay to work as a high
beam
flasher, which is typical of newer bikes.(But it could be used for
other
functions limited to your imagination) There are ten wires coming out
the
right side which terminate in a 9 pin connector + one bullet connector
@ about 16 inches. The corresponding other half of the 9 pin connector
is included with approximately 7 inches of matching wire
pigtailed
on, for a total wire length of about 24 inches. One of the wires is for
ground, so this switch will work on rubber mounted or painted
handlebars
Wires are color coded, and there is a plug diagram included. This
switch
is for 7/8" bars and is about 1-3/4" wide where the handlebar passes
through.
Would need about 3/4" clearance between handlebar and clutch lever. The
switch body is some kind of plastic which has a solid heavy feel. It is
made in Taiwan which might explain why it is $100 - $120.00 cheaper
than
a similar Moto Guzzi switch which does not have the headlights off
function.
$68.95*
