Stronghold Teepee

We are proud to offer the Stronghold Teepee to touring motrocyclists. This versatile shelter is made in the U.S.A. from superior American made materials, and has been thouroughly tested in extreme conditions ranging from the snows of Denali, the winds of the desert, and the rains of Central America. The Stronghold Teepee continues to see use by commercial guiding services around the world. It is the real thing.
The Stronghold Teepee is simple, spacious, light, and packs in a small space. It comes with stakes for the perimeter of the base, and has a variety of attachment points for guy lines if the going really gets tough, or other situations come in to play. The simplicity of design is combined with attention to detail, and it is the product of extensive trial, evaluation, and improvement. The single center pole is made from two telescoping sections (4 pieces total) of a large diameter aircraft grade aluminum tubing. There is a large zippered and screened window on the back, as well as a hooded screened vent that is above and integral with the door. The base is roughly eleven feet in diameter, and the the teepee stands seven feet tall.
The door has a full length zipper with storm flaps. The opening it provides allows for easy access while carrying things like luggage and sleeping gear, and you only need to duck to walk in... not grovel on your knees like with many tents. There is room inside to get in and out of your riding gear, and to open and spread out your luggage, boots, maps, etc. There are hang loops on the inside at the top to allow gear to dry or air out. The space inside is friendly, and a good place to set up a camp chair for a comfy read while you wait for weather to pass. There is room inside to sleep four, but if you really want to get social, several more will fit crosslegged in a circle and be able to share a meal, a story, a drink, or a card game. Even though it has an abundance of room, it still packs small enough to be the first choice for the solo rider.
The Stronghold Teepee does not have a floor, while to some this may seem an omission... in use, the lack of floor is an asset that adds to the stronghold's versatility. In almost all cases a tent floor is just a liability that is better done away with. A tent floor will only collect dirt and water from feet and equipment, and make for a mess if you try and cook, and is just something else to wear and tear. In real life a small groundcloth is all you need, and something that will still available if the weather is nice enough to sleep under the stars, or you need someplace to spread out your tools.
Not having a floor means you can improvise: set the Stronghold up taller than normal for shade, set it up over that bush or rock that would be in the way of setting up a normal tent, or even set it up over your motorcycle to do a repair or maintenance while you wait for weather to clear.
